1,000 Rosary Rallies Honor Our Lady of Fatima

On May 11, 2024, thousands of Catholics gathered in prayer and devotion to honor Our Lady of Fatima. The over thousand Rosary Rallies promoted by America Needs Fatima were not merely expressions of faith but also a powerful answer to Our Lady’s urgent plea in 1917: to “pray the Rosary every day in order to obtain peace for the world.”

Offering public reparation for sins that offend God and bring about suffering, Rally Captains all over the nation heeded Our Lady’s call for a return to prayer and moral conversion.

The First Apparition and its Legacy

On May 13, 1917, three young shepherd children—Jacinta and Francisco Marto and their cousin Lucia dos Santos—witnessed the first of several apparitions of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the Cova da Iria fields near Fatima, Portugal. Our Lady, appearing radiant and sorrowful, entrusted them with a message of prayer and penance, urging the world to turn away from sin and seek God’s mercy.

A powerful bond formed between the children and the Blessed Mother. Each apparition revealed profound moral truths, including the secrets of the Rosary and a vision of Hell, serving as a stark reminder of the consequences of sin and the urgency of conversion.

Eternal and Natural Law: The Foundation of Morals and Law

At the heart of the Fatima message lies the promise of God’s mercy, made accessible through true humility, sacrifice and the transformative power of prayer. Following in the example of the three shepherd children, Rosary Rally Captains bring the Fatima message into the modern world, uniting Catholics in faith and penance just as Our Lady requested.

A rally in Austell, Georgia.

“When we began to pray the rosary, our hearts were filled with the love for our Mother. We pray for all our brothers who suffer and who are separated from God and our Lady. On this anniversary, we pray for everyone to understand our Lady’s mission: to facilitate the connection between us and her Son, our Lord Jesus. May the immaculate heart of the Most Holy Mary triumph over evil. Amen. Thank you for the opportunity to be part of the rally in honor of Our Lady of Fatima.”—Zulay in Cape Coral, Florida

Charlene’s rally in Amsterdam, New York.

“Seeing these pictures and we only have three to five people at a time, I remember what our Lord says, ‘When three or more gather in my Name, I am with you.’ So, we continue each month and pray for the world and the people in it. We have a shortage of priests, and it’s hard to get them to join us due to prior commitments. We do have people walk by and ask questions, and we hand out rosaries and prayer cards. Please pray for us and with us to pull the community together. God bless.”—Charlene in Amsterdam, New York

Bernadette’s rally in Knox, Indiana.

“We held our Rosary Rally at our new Rosary Garden in our Meditation Park at Saint Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Knox, Indiana. The day was sunny but windy. Due to an earlier storm, electricity was out in parts of our area, which prevented some from attending because they could not get their car out of the garage. Ten of us were in attendance. Fr. Stephen Loncar led our prayers. We followed with a potluck in the church hall. What we lacked in numbers, we made up for in dedication, reverence, great food, and cherished camaraderie.”—Bernadette in Knox, Indiana

“There were just 2 of us standing on the corner in Kernville, California. We got 1 beep in approval for praying for America and no disrespectful actions. It was a hopeful experience for us, and I’m sure some hearts were convicted.”—Antonia and Jesse in Kernville, California

“Salve Maria! Our Rosary Rally was attended by 17 people, who prayed with love and devotion to Our Lady for the conversion of our country and the defense of God’s marriage. We had tons of support from drivers, many with very spirited and strong favorable reactions. There was a lady selling flowers in the street corner where we were. She approached Our Lady with devotion and offered a red rose to her. This very day, May the 11th, is the 7th Anniversary of our monthly Rosary Rally.”—Elvia in Austin, Texas

Rain or shine, hot or cold, ants and all, our group has been faithfully praying for nearly two years or more. We love Our Mother!”—Linda in Tampa, Florida

“The Rally was a great success. We could feel the Holy Spirit. More people from our community want to come back and pray with us.”—Barbara in Okemah, Oklahoma

Fatima’s Enduring Call in the Modern World

Over a century later, the message of Fatima remains as relevant as ever. The world continues to grapple with sin, war and moral decay, the very concerns Our Lady expressed to the shepherd children in 1917. Despite these areas of strife, hope remains alive in Fatima.
