Pope Pius IX once said, “Give me an army saying the Rosary and I will conquer the world.” Saint Louis de Montfort preached, “Public prayer is far more powerful than private prayer…Holy Mother Church, guided by the Holy Spirit, has always advocated public prayer in times of public tragedy and suffering.”

On May 11, enthusiastic supporters of Ireland Needs Fatima (INF) acted on those words by leading 563 Rosary Rallies as part of the organization’s Public Square Rosary Crusade. More than 10,000 people participated across the nation.

They prayed for the Mother of God’s intercession for Ireland and their families. They bore two weapons. One was the Holy Rosary. The other was a banner saying, “Praying the Rosary for Ireland. Please join us!”

Mr. Gregory Murphy, the INF rally coordinator, exclaimed, “It is beautiful to see the massive expansion of Rosary Rallies worldwide. We had people requesting material from the New World, England, Africa and Japan.

“Ireland is a Catholic Nation. We were the land of saints and scholars. But Satan, the father of lies, is trying to make people sympathetic to his false ways. These peaceful Rosary Rallies send a message around the world. There are still faithful, strong Catholics in Ireland who will not sit idly by while their nation falls away.

“Just as with the other campaigns in other nations, our May Rosary Rallies are intended to make reparation to God for sin and to plead for His urgent help to save Ireland from the continuous rise of Satanism.”

INF organizes the rallies on the Saturday closest to May 13 to honor the feast of Our Lady of Fatima. INF is sponsored by Irish Society for Christian Civilisation.

The Irish rallies are part of an international observance. In the United States, the Irish Society’s sister organization, America Needs Fatima, organizes around 1,000 rallies in May and over 20,000 Fatima rallies in October. South Africa Needs Our Lady also organizes rallies across Africa, particularly in May and October.

David, a rally captain in County Mayo, shared, “It is a joy and a duty to honor Our Lady of Fatima at this turning point in Irish History!” One of David’s colleagues, Mrs. Walsh of County Meath, added, “The rosary was recited in the town center on the site of the medieval Franciscan Friary and gave witness to the devotion to Our Lady that has prevailed in Ireland through the centuries.”
