Encouraged by nearly twenty American bishops who have publicly spoken out against those politicians who receive communion while scandalously support abortion, same-sex “marriage” and other aberrations, the America Needs Fatima Campaign has launched its Now or Never petition campaign this July.
The campaign consists of a petition to the National Conference of Catholic Bishops asking each Catholic bishop to take a position of leadership against the rising homosexual threat to the sanctity of marriage. The petition cites the example of the pastoral letter of Bishop Michael Sheridan of Colorado Springs. The letter clearly states the obligations of Catholic politicians to defend life and marriage.
“If we fail to stop the homosexual agenda today,” explains America Needs Fatima director Robert E. Ritchie, “tomorrow it may be too late to save the sacred institution of marriage.”
The NOW or NEVER petition respectfully asks the Bishops to lead America’s 70 million Catholics in a crusade of prayer, penance and effective action. Tens of thousands of the petitions were recently sent out.
The present phase of the massive drive will end on September 8th, Our Lady’s birthday.
“As in the matter of abortion…Catholic politician[s] who would promote so-called ‘same-sex marriage’…place themselves outside the full communion of the Church and may not receive Holy Communion until they have recanted their positions and been reconciled by the Sacrament of Penance.” (May 1, 2004, The Most Rev. Michael J. Sheridan, Bishop of Colorado Springs)
