Avowed Lesbian Cast as God: Not Even the Idea of God is Sacred

Many wrongly criticize those who protest blasphemy claiming that the most effective way to fight against blasphemous productions it is to ignore them and they will go away.

Quite to the contrary, the best way to fight against blasphemy is to protest loudly and clearly in a peaceful and legal way. Blasphemy protests have been proven to be highly effective. Indeed, many offending institutions reluctantly admit they fear protesters. Moreover, ignoring blasphemy has never made it go away. Unopposed, blasphemy only becomes more daring and ever more offensive to God, His Blessed Mother and faithful Catholics.

From Hollywood comes the news that Jerry Weintraub Productions will be filming a remake of the comedy “Oh God!” this summer. The movie portrays God, whom all Christians adore, as a wise-cracking cranky individual full of defects and imperfections. As if that were not bad enough, the so-called Supreme Being in “Oh God!” is to be played by the avowed lesbian talk show host Ellen DeGeneres!

To protest such a cruel and offensive depiction of our Creator BEFORE it is produced, the America Needs Fatima campaign is asking its members to sign and send protest postcards to the film producer, Jerry Weintraub, and its distributor, Warner Brothers. It is also sending petition cards to major media urging them to report fairly on the efforts of those opposing this attack on God;

According to press reports, producer Jerry Weintraub says Ellen DeGeneres, a lesbian, is a great choice to play the Supreme Being in “Oh, God!” because: “…she has always done material about God and questions about God” (AP, 08-23-04).

Producers plan to film Ellen DeGeneres’ part in the summer which gives campaign members six months to tell the film’s producer and distributor how they feel about his “comedy.”

“Is this the idea of God we want our children to have?” asks campaign director Robert E. Ritchie. “How can we just sit idly by and let this happen without standing up in God’s defense? This isn’t only an isolated production, it’s showing in mainstream America!”

Mr. Ritchie reported that the blasphemous production “Jesus Has Two Mommies,” a theater play that portrayed the Virgin Mary as a lesbian was not shown this Christmas season at its usual venue in Massachusetts after massive protests. Similar results can be seen in other productions where Catholics stood up for God and His Mother. The important thing is for Christians to make their voices heard.

The TFP’s America Needs Faitma campaign is asking its members and web site visitors to order protest postcards today. Depending on the response, the TFP web site will start an email protest later. For now, the best thing that can be done would be to send hundreds of thousands of protest cards defending the Faith and the All-perfect, Almighty and Most adorable Creator.

Don’t delay! Distribute them at local parishes, schools, prayer group meetings or among family and friends. Each card you distribute and each person you ask to join the campaign, consoles God and His Mother, Mary Most Holy.
