On January 21, America Needs Fatima supporters held over 1,100 Public Square Rosary Rallies nationwide to pray for the end of abortion in America. The January Pro-Life Rosary Rallies celebrated last June’s overturning of the infamous Roe v. Wade. The rallies also expressed the determination of pro-life Americans to continue the fight for the unborn.
Rally Captains reported on the resounding success of their rallies. They were especially happy to see that Rosary was an effective weapon in this fight. The reaction of the public was extremely positive. Best of all, the rallies reached out to the public, communicating the message of the sanctity of innocent life. “First, we had a Mass at our parish and then walked about two miles to the town square. We had speakers from our local Sav-A-Life women’s center and we prayed a Rosary and Chaplet of Divine Mercy. We also sang songs and had tables set up with all kinds of Catholic material to give away.” ~ Ernie in Calhoun County, Alabama
Whether in subzero temperatures in South Dakota or mild Southern climates in Alabama (above), rally participants all experienced the joy of praying in public for the most innocent of our society.
“On January 21, twenty-five of us gathered and joined many other groups across the nation, praying in thanksgiving for the overturning of Roe v. Wade. Prayers were also offered in support of those marching in the March for Life rally in Washington D.C. and California, the end of abortion worldwide and the repeal of existing pro-abortion laws present in individual states across the country.” ~ Sandra in Haskell, New Jersey
Sandra makes an excellent point in the above report. Now that Roe v. Wade has been overturned, the pro-life movement must direct its prayers and activities toward repealing all abortion laws in individual states. America must confide in Our Lady, who will always provide the tools for victory. The January 21 rallies represented an important step toward this victory. With the Rosary as a weapon, America can return to God.
No one knows how many souls are touched by Our Lady’s brave Rally Captains. By choosing places with high visibility in the public square, people’s exposure to the Faith is multiplied. At some intersections, thousands of cars pass by.
Saturday’s Rosary Rally for Life was the first of this year’s monthly rallies focused on different themes. The upcoming theme of February’s Rosary Rally is to commemorate the lives of Fatima seers, Saints Jacinta and Francisco as models of purity for youth. The special intentions connect the problems the nation faces and the need for God’s Grace.
Over the years, participants in the Public Square Rosary Rallies have prayed millions of rosaries at tens of thousands of locations across America. The effort is a project of the American Society for the Defense of Tradition, Family, and Property and their America Needs Fatima campaign.
Every October, America Needs Fatima makes a special effort to have the largest possible number of rallies to commemorate the “Miracle of the Sun” in Fatima in 1917. In 2022, nearly 21,544 rallies took place across the country. Additional monthly rallies address the specific needs of the nation. The next rally will commemorate Saints Jacinta and Francisco on Saturday, February 18.
“It began raining halfway through the rally, but that did not stop us!” ~ John – Lafayette, Louisiana

“The aim is to keep Fatima before the public every month,” says America Needs Fatima director Robert E. Ritchie. “Human solutions are not enough. We need supernatural aid from Our Lady.”
