These high-end medical facilities do not promise eternity but only an extension of avoiding mortality. They offer a line of treatments, exercises and products that claim to help clients live longer, healthier lives.
There are now a few hundred longevity clinics in the United States where membership can also have the added benefit of being a status symbol for the affluent American who has everything. Appearing younger is the ultimate bragging point.

The Wall Street Journal reports that treatments vary in price and involvement. They can include supplements, plasma exchange, body scans and age testing. Other treatments involve hyperbaric oxygen care, sleep therapies or stem cell injections. One clinic, Extension Heath of New York, has a “Superhuman” package with a $250,000 yearly price tag that claims to be “your everything.”
Many scientists and doctors warn that while the clinics offer concierge services and personalized care, they are not necessarily backed up by robust scientific evidence. Many supplements, for example, do not enjoy the endorsement of establishment medicine. A Wild West atmosphere surrounds the clinics where regulation and rules are often lacking and embellished claims are everything.

This nontraditional attitude toward aging seems to be drawing rich patrons. The clinics represent an unconventional approach to an unconventional demand—to frustrate the aging process.
