The online business review platform, Yelp, has announced it will pay the travel expenses of any employee who must leave her state in order to procure an abortion. It seems Yelp’s action is in reaction to the many laws against abortion being passed in many states in anticipation of the Supreme Court decision in June.
This is abhorrent! No business should help its employees to sin!
“As a remote-first company with a distributed workforce, this new benefit allows our US employees and their dependents to have equitable access to reproductive care, regardless of where they live,” said Miriam Warren, according to businessinsider.com.
And again, “We’ve long been a strong advocate for equality in the workplace, and believe that gender equality cannot be achieved if women’s healthcare rights are restricted,” said Warren.
