Tell Netflix to STOP Distorting Catholic Church With Bizarre Warrior Nuns

Sadly, the Catholic Church is once again a target of ridicule. This time, Netflix is streaming a series titled, Warrior Nun, about superhero nuns in traditional habits with special powers fighting demons.

These machine-gun-toting nuns are meant to represent Christ’s brides and things that should be held sacred. A theme throughout the show portrays the Catholic Church mixed with mythology and Gnosticism.

Enough is enough!

Why must the Church always be the target of such blasphemous portrayals?

According to the series creator Simon Barry, “I liked that we had the religious mythology, Christian mythology, and the mythology of heaven and hell.

In the series, the main character, Ava, discovers she has superpowers and is part of the Order of the Cruciform Sword, which Netflix describes as a “secret sect of demon-hunting nuns.”

The show twists and distorts the face of the Catholic Church and turns that which should be held sacred into something science fiction and fantasy.

Wall Street Journal reviewer John Anderson admits that “there may well be justification for Catholics to be offended” by the casualness by which he offends.

According to Polygon.com, Ava and another woman make, “barbed comments about the patriarchal power of the Catholic Church.”

This is an abomination and should be abhorred.

There is some news and talk about a second series, which would only continue to ridicule and sully the purity of the Holy Faith.

This bizarre show mixes weird sci-fi/fantasy with the Holy Catholic Church. This is completely inappropriate and should be stopped.
